The perfect place to relax, unwind, unplug ❤️ We had an amazing experience at Playa Sonrisa Resort! We purposefully went during the off season so we could make the most out of R & R. Needless to say, it was the most relaxing, peaceful environment we could have hoped for! Blaney & Steve were fabulous and took excellent care of us during our stay! We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you’re looking to unplug and spend absolute quality time with your loved one, this is the place to stay!!! Thank you Blaney & Steve!!! ❤️ Dave & TPosted on Google![]()

These guys are absolutely amazing. The owners are so sweet and kind. Our car had unexpectedly broken down on the way there and have to cancel my reservation but they're kind enough to reschedule so that we can enjoy our time. It was well worth it. It is an amazing place you must go.Posted on Trustindex![]()

Most amazing experience This place is actually amazing and the owners are very sweet and kind and sure you are having the best time possible. The only beach resort I know that we unexpectedly had our car breakdown and had to cancel reservations, but instead of not helping us the extra kind of to give us a credit and to reschedule our moment of there. I don't know any other resort in Mexico that would do that the place is amazing and tranquil definitely a place you must go see.Posted on Google![]()

Playa Sonrisa’s motto is, “Hard to get to. Even harder to leave.” This is a perfect description of the resort, as it is not on the beaten path, (about 5 hours from Cancun.) But the trip down the coast of Mexico is definitely worth it. And the remoteness was actually part of the charm. My wife and I spent 6 days there and I can safely say it was the most relaxing vacation I have ever taken. We had no concerns for the entire length of our stay, and we spent our days enjoying the Caribbean, the second largest barrier reef in the world, the sun, the pool and other amenities. We met some of the most wonderful people who we are now lucky enough to call forever friends. We can’t wait to return to this tropical paradise again to relax away from the hustle and bustle of normal everyday life.+1Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Incredible experience, absolute tranquility, waking up to the sound of the breeze and the waves you see from bed at dawn. It's rustic, peaceful, and beautiful. Escape the big hotels and resorts where there's a fight for spots by the pool, umbrellas, or the bar. It's the complete opposite. Everything is there for you. And despite our English being worse than bad, they were very attentive and we understood each other well. The food was a surprise, lobster on arrival, wow… during our 28-day vacation here in Mexico we stayed at 4 hotels and resorts, including Hard Rock, and we still have Holbox to go, but this experience was the most memorable so far. Unforgettable.

It’s not trying to be something its not!! Playa Sonrisa is one of those rare places that defies easy description. Our perfect was a polished, all-inclusive luxury resorts. This is something quieter, simpler, and more meaningful. This was an unforgettable experience—and one we will definitely be returning to. We weren’t naturists and unsure about the clothing-optional aspect, but there was no pressure—only acceptance. You simply exist in your own skin. The setting is peaceful and unspoiled, with nature setting the pace. Blaine and Steve have created something truly special—authentic and full of warmth. Playa Sonrisa doesn’t pretend to be something its not. I found a piece of me I lost many years ago, we’ve been married a long time and we left reconnected with a deeper sense of us than ever before. Playa Sonrisa doesn’t try to impress. It offers space, to relax reconnect, rediscover and enjoy what really matters.
